O Farmacji: a new standard in e-learning for pharmacists

Challenge

O Farmacji is a modern e-learning platform designed for pharmacists seeking to expand their knowledge, earn continuing education points, and participate in professional online activities.

The project aimed to migrate the existing Drupal-based platform to a modern, high-performance, and easily scalable solution. A key challenge was to significantly improve system stability and reliability, which in the previous environment did not fully meet the growing expectations of users and the dynamic evolution of the platform.

A core objective was to maintain the high level of user trust while introducing technological and functional improvements without disrupting the familiar user experience pharmacists had come to rely on.

Scope and Services

The 300.codes team was responsible for the full migration, implementation, and ongoing development of the platform, taking complete ownership of its technological backbone. Our scope included:

  • Drupal Migration – full transfer of content structure, users, and educational materials to the new system
  • UX/UI Optimization – implementation of ready-made designs along with our recommendations and improvements
  • Front-End Development – building the user interface from scratch, with a focus on speed and intuitiveness
  • Back-End and Server Infrastructure – complete deployment, environment setup, and optimization for performance and security
  • Authorization System – user verification to ensure professional pharmacist credentials
  • Gamification – implementation of a points-based reward system to boost platform engagement
  • Paywall and Onboarding – designing mechanisms for registration, gated content, and user conversion
  • Integrations and Technical Support – deployment of key integrations and ongoing maintenance

Implementation

The new O Farmacji platform was built from the ground up using a modern tech stack, delivering speed, reliability, and intuitive content management.

ClickMeeting Integration – Seamless Webinar Experience

The platform was integrated with ClickMeeting, which serves as the primary tool for hosting webinars and online events. The integration was designed to offer a seamless experience – users can register for events with a single click, without needing to navigate to external systems.

Webinars are embedded via iframe, keeping users within the O Farmacji environment throughout the event. This approach reinforces brand consistency and ensures that pharmacists stay fully immersed in the educational and visual ecosystem of the platform.

Headless CMS: WordPress

Using a headless CMS approach allowed for full separation of front-end and back-end components, significantly improving page load times and simplifying content management. Editors work within the Gutenberg interface without requiring coding knowledge.

Full Drupal Migration

We migrated all legacy content – courses, user accounts, metadata, and education points – to the new environment. The transition was smooth and invisible to end users, and the new platform launched seamlessly.

Gamification and Rewards System

Platform users earn points for various activities: attending courses, completing quizzes, and watching webinars. These points can be exchanged for rewards, significantly boosting learning motivation and user engagement.

User Authorization System

Access is restricted to verified pharmacists only. We implemented a dedicated verification process to ensure professional identity, a critical requirement in a regulated environment.

Paywall and Onboarding

The platform includes a paywall mechanism that encourages registration and helps convert user interest into engagement. Some content is only available upon login, supporting community building and data collection.

  • Online Courses – comprehensive modules with quizzes and certificates
  • Webinars – live events and on-demand access to archived recordings
  • Quizzes – knowledge checks to support the learning process
  • Industry Articles – expert content and news relevant to pharmacists
  • Points System – rewards for engagement and activity on the platform

Results

Following the launch of the new platform, pharmacists quickly embraced the system – user activity exceeded expectations within the first weeks.

Users actively engage in educational pathways, participate in courses and webinars, and enthusiastically take part in gamified experiences, regularly redeeming points for rewards.

The new platform has been well received by the pharmacy community and now serves as a strong technological foundation for future content development and expanded communication and promotional activities.
